50 Cent Knows The Power Of A Dollar
The 27-year-old rapper 50 Cent, whose given name is Curtis James Jackson III, bought former heavyweight boxing champion Mike Tyson's Farmington, Conn., mansion for $4.1 million. The mansion was most recently owned by Tyson's ex-wife Monica Turner Tyson, who acquired it for $1 as part of their divorce settlement. The house is approximately 50,000 square feet, has 52 rooms, and was bought by Tyson for $2.7 million in 1996 (the same year he knocked out Frank Bruno in the third round to win the WBC heavyweight title in Las Vegas). At least there's enough room to accommodate 50 Cent's massive entourage: The house includes five Jacuzzis, 25 full baths, 18 bedrooms, an elevator, two billiard rooms, a movie theater and a locker room
The security team for 50 Cent met on Monday to discuss plans for his new house. Last month, there were at least 10 shots fired when 50 Cent and his entourage entered a Jersey City hotel, but as of last week investigators believed that at least one of the gunmen was a member of 50 Cent's entourage. In 2000 the young Queens native--whose past seems to be of more interest than his music--was shot nine times outside the Queens home of his grandmother (his mother was killed when he was 8). He reportedly still has a hole in his jaw and bullet fragment in his tongue from the shootings.
